CalcWise is a set of free tax calculators. It has no accounts, no sign-ups, no forms, and no cookies. The numbers you type into a calculator never leave your browser. This page explains the little that is collected and why.
What you type stays on your device
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Property values, purchase options, and the resulting tax estimates are computed locally and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
The PDF export is generated in your browser as well. The file is created on your device and saved directly by you — it is not uploaded, stored, or processed on a server.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which calculators they use. It is a privacy-preserving, cookie-free analytics tool: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and cannot follow you to other websites.
It records the page address, the referring site if there is one, your browser and operating system, and a country derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not retained in the analytics data. Everything we can see is aggregate — we cannot identify you or single out an individual visitor.
Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis for this is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): understanding basic traffic levels so the site can be maintained and improved. If you would rather not be counted, any tracker-blocking browser extension will block the analytics script, and the calculators will work exactly as before.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of your connection — including your IP address — in order to deliver pages to you and to protect the site from attacks and abuse. This is handled under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. We do not use these connection details to identify visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else.
No third-party content
This site loads no third-party fonts, no embedded media, no advertising, and no social media widgets. Typefaces are served from our own domain, so simply visiting a page does not disclose your IP address to any outside company.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or share data with anyone. We do not run advertising or build advertising profiles. We do not use cookies or any other form of persistent storage on your device. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection over your personal data. In Canada, PIPEDA provides comparable rights. In practice we hold no data that could identify you, so there is usually nothing to retrieve or delete — but you are welcome to ask using the address below, and you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date at the top of the page.
